I want to buy this kenwood deck with a built in high/low pass, i plan on using the high pass cuz i got stock speakers and they distort. but i got subs, so will the deck send out only highs through the rca preamp outputs to my amp? posted_image

Yes, the crossover will only affect the RCA outputs, not the speaker outputs.  If you're going to stick with the factory speakers, you might just want to try some bass blockers.

If you are adding an amp, then I suggest upgrading the speakers as well so the stock speakers are no longer the "weak link".  Then you'll want to use the amp's built in high pass crossover.

thats not completely correct the high pass crossover on pioneer H/U and on higher end sony H/U effects the speaker outputs and the bass blockers have not done much when i have used them

Well, I guess you learn something everyday.  I didn't know that, but I tend to stay away from those brands.

That HU has a subwoofer pre-out which will not be affected by the high-pass crossover.  The high-pass crossover controls BOTH the speaker level outs and the pre-amp outs for front and rear, as is the case with MOST head units.
