when i play my car stereo, and the bass it it seems to turn off the speakers. the speakers are hooked up to an amp but when the volume gets turned up the bass knocks the signal from teh speakers so the speakers cut out for a second, what can be wrong?

Check to see what the voltage drops down to at the amplifier when the bass hits.  I'm pretty sure it's dropping too low for the amp.  You may look into an upgraded alternator/wiring.

Ditch the Wal Mart amplifier.  You can't expect to have anything but trouble trying to use gear like that.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
