i read in another thread that acoustic cancellation can make running two subs not as loud as running one (if power was to remain the same). How would i find out if acoustic cancellation would be factor in a given system? what kind of things would i need to know to? thanks.

If your woofers are in phase, your acoustic cancellation will be so low as to be practically unmeasureable. I wouldn't worry about it, you'll cost yourself more sleep than it will EVER be worth.

As long as your woofer(s) are one plane, you will be so close to absolute phase, there is not likely to be any equipment to be able to measure it effectively.

If one woofer is 1 inch further from you than the other, and you are reproducing a 20Hz note, the phase shift will be less than .5 degrees, which will NEVER cause you any kind of problems at all. You will not hear any kind of phase shift or acoustic cancellation of any significance 'till you reach somewhere around 22.5 degrees, which is approximately a 45 inch difference in baffle planes...

As I said, I wouldn't worry about it. Your ear will never know it's there, and any kind of "fix" you might apply at one frequency will be gone by the time you reach one octave above or below the "fixed" frequency.

BTW, that's a sweet lookin' system you are building... The SW9122 and the DA7232 amp are an ASTOUNDING combination! You won't BELIEVE how much noise one 12 can make! Keep it sealed though! (Or should I say keep THEM sealed?) I am using that amp on one of those same woofers in my Civic, and it is nothing short of amazing. Deep, powerful, and FAST!!! I think you'll like...
