in a friend of mine's car when he turn up the volume on his pioneer 3500 about to 25 the amps just turn off (2 gm-x972 (800w each) and 2 pioneer 12" ts-w3041DVC) and 4guage power wires could it be that the HU knows that there isnt enough power to the amp ? how do i fix this problem? a cap maybe?

The most common causes for amps going into protection are: 1) speaker impedence is too low. 2) amp input gain is too high. 3) current draw of amps is too much for the vehicle's electrical system, drawing voltage too low. 4) improper installation, specifically poor quality ground connection. 5) equipment failure (speakers, amps, HU, RCA cable, etc.) You need to investigate each of these. And no, a cap will not "fix" this problem.
