i just installed 4 speakers in a 2000 accord with an alpine deck. the speakers we working great for about a week and now all you can hear is the subs. there is no sound coming out of the speakers. the deck turns on and works perfectly, along with the amp and subs, for some reason the speakers just arent producing any sound. any help would be appreciated . thanks

All 4 are shut off? Could be your head unit internal amplifier is dead. This can also happen if one or more of the speakers shorts out or shorts to ground. Try disconnecting all four speakers, turn the HU on then back off to reset it, then reconnect the speakers one at a time and see if they work. (Turn the HU off before you connect each speaker, don't do try to connect any speakers with the HU on or you might blow it.) If resetting the amp doesn't work, sounds like you may have a defective HU. Take it back.

so you think im best off reconnecting all 4 speakers, and if that doesnt work, its most likely the head unit? could this happen if say one of the positive/negative connections disconnected at the speaker. would one loose connection shut off all the speakers and send the radio into protection>?

Yes, that's why you need to disconnect everything and let the amp reset before you begin hooking them back up.
