I have a Kenwood MP628 head unit and im trying to install a Power Acoustik 920/2 amp to it.
Now it needs to obviously connect to my headunit in 2 ways: audio and power
For audio: There are different terminals but one is labled "Subwoofer". Other than that there are 2 more sets of terminals: Front, and Rear. Is "Subwoofer" what I want to use?
For my remote power (Amp is turned on when power of stereo is on) I have different wires, I'll copy the name and descriptions. Basically, I need a live wire to be continuously on when the radio is on for my amp. I just don't know if I need a specific one.
Power Control Wire - when using the optional power amplifier, connect to its power control terminal.
Motor Antenna Control Wire - depending on what antenna you are using, connect either to the control terminal of the motor antenna, or to the power terminal for the booster amplifier of the fim-type antenna
My wiring intructions say for my amp, "Remote Turn-One Input: To Power Antenna Output of Car Stereo"...so I guess I have to go with the antenna?

cheers!I have just installed the Mp828 and added a component set and a subwoofer. You don't want to amplify your hu. Which ever speakers you are tyring to amplify will need to be connected to the amp(or you need to splice into the current speaker run from the hu to the amp). Whichever channel you are running those speakers from (front) or (rear) hook the rca cables to the hu and run to the amp input . Then connect the 12V constant wire on your hu to the amp. This will turn the amp on and off when you turn the stereo on. Of course connect the ground on the amp first and run your power cable from the battery to the amp and you are all set.
ok, I installed everything correctly (I suppose). My stereo worked for 5 minutes so I turned it off. Tucked my stereo back in, turned it back on, worked again fine. Turned off, tried to figure out a position for my amp so I moved the amp around a lil bit, not pulling on anything or banging it.
Put it in a good position I liked, checked the wires, turned the car on --- neither the stereo nor the amp turns on now --- of course the amp wont turn on either without the stereo being on. So I guess there's a short somewhere??? I believe my radio fuse went out.
But how is it possible to have my system work fine but go while it wasn't even turned on?

cheers!You may have touched one of the bare metal wires and blew a fuse.
wait i can simply touch the bare metal of a wire and it could blow a fuse??? cause i definately touched some of the bare wiring...

If you ground a live wire it will blow a fuse, so look at your fuses you may have blown some. If you got a DMM take a look at your HU radio harness make sure the live wire (yellow) has 12 going through it the entire time, and accessory have 12 when you car is on acsessory.(Red wire on harness) If they don't a fuse is blown. Remote is usually blue white if i remember right, blue is power antenna. For main power for amp always take it from the battery with apropriate gauge and make sure there is a fuse 6 inches from the battery(For car insurance and protecting wiring). Oh if you are say amplifying the speakers in the doors disconnect them from the radio harness and just connect them to the amp. After doing all the diagnostic stuff i suggested get back me.
