I have an infinity 8" reference sub, and I am wanting to get some more bass up front for staging purposes i guess.  Anybody have any ideas on where to put it.  I have a 99 integra ls.  I am pretty good with glass but don't want to do anything crazy like make a new center console or what not.  Thanks for the ideas guys, I you have links to pics as well I would really appreciate it.

you can try to see if u can fit a nice little custom box under the seat.  see how u like it, since its an 8inch, shouldnt be overwhelming.

the mounting depth is roughly 4.5 " and that's about exaclty what I have to work with under the seat. so what scares me is there doesn't seem to be room for excursion from the cone.  OR will this matter???

are you including box?

that should account for a goog 1' 1/4

Well that includes the bottom of a box with flush mount on top!  If I made it out of glass i could make the bottom about 1/4 thick, but like I said, I don't know about the cone hitting the bottom of my seat when fully extended.  How is the sound from a under-seat mounted subwooofer??

well just thibking bout it, use mdf or whatever material for the sides and underside of your box and the main part where the sub fits could be made from fibreglass. what i mean ius the fibreglass part could be made as if it is sagging into the box so you still have the room but you will also have room for excursion.

ok I understand what you mean, my questions is this, if the top of the drive to the bottom of the box is around 4.5 inches, then how high do you suppose I need to make those sidewalls???  at leat an inch higher the rubber surround on the drive if no a little more,  so know were talking like 6 inches and I don't have that kinda room.  Integra remember.  I think *japanese for INTEGRA translates into "we made everything tiny for you to suffer"*  It's a sick sense of humor I think!
