the OLD 6002's were very high frequeny oriented. great for classical......about it
the NEW 6012's are much more balanced.....a "polk" type speaker....only maybe better the new infinity's ref's are HOT bang for the buck in my opinion

I own a pair of ref 6x9 on my rear deck, never had a pair like em for the money. great SQ. Very detailed, no color added, very true.

Try these out, polk are pretty good, and they have a silk tweet so they aren't pitchy, I've heard them, don't quite have the power handling of the infinity's, but who cares, nobody puts that's much power to them anyway.
