Ok, I have been having another debate with a friend about speakers. Someone I know just put 2 Kicker Solo Baric L7's with a HiFonics 1600 watt Mono Amp in his car. Because of the intense bass, he cannot hear the words with his stock speakers. He dosent really know ablot about speakers so I told him to replace all the interor speakers, 6x9's in the rear, and 4x6 in the doors, and connect a 4ch amp. My other friend is just telling him to keep the speakers and add 4 tweeters, 2 in the front, and 2 in the rear. Please let me know what you think, do you agree with me, or with my friend. By the way, money isnt a huge issue, he isnt looking to spend thousands of dollars on his interior speakers, just a couple hundred at max. Thanks.

i would agree with new speakers and a 4 channel amp normally i would suggest componets but with those subs don't think hes really going for SQ so some 4x6 and 6x9's from www.ikesound.com will do the trick ------------- 1974 ford pinto 4 15" punch Z power punch bd 1001 pioneer DEH-6700

How would you power the tweeters to begin with? Are you going to add an amp just for tweeters? I Guess one could add some tweeters if they felt like having it sound like crap. Intense highs and too much bass, with no mid? Common sense should take hold here and it would suggest new speakers, powered by an amp. -------------

I met a guy a few weeks ago who showed me his stereo... he had 'componets' ... like .... seperates from Wal-Mart, with the midbasses mounted in the doors like normal right, then he installed the tweeters .... PARALLELED off the deck with the mids, behind the CENTER dash air vents in the middle of the dash.
His sub was a little home stereo Bose Acousitmass he had wired to the rear outputs of his deck, which was wedged between the seats and was being used as an armrest.
