why? so you can spend 500 bucks on a factory Satilite tuner? why don't you just go aftermarket?

well, you can install Sirius or XM via the Ford. Ford is a Sirius partner, correct? and those parts can be bought directly from the dealer and installed or yourself, or installed by the dealer.

but Ford can also be utilized to accept XM via an XM Direct kit which allows the use of the factory receiver to control the XM controller. to know for sure, i know of only this definite disclaimer: Ford vehicles must have "SAT" button on the Audiophile CD6 radio for combatibility.

price for the XM Direct unit is $180 plus shipping. and includes antenna, xm direct receiver and all necessary cabling to enable your OEM radio to accept XM.

if XM service is your desired Sat service provider, greater detail can be found here, @ XM411: https://www.myradiostore.us/xm-radio-receivers/xm-direct-ford-rvr-d-001-frd100.html
