I was wondering if i plan a simple front rear sub setup what would be best i know the components have crossovers but for say thoose 5 channels should i send them through and EQ or a crossover or both? Basically i want the best /truest sq possible. Also another consideration is i am kinda one of thoose guys who cant set it and leave it so i would like a little control at the dash if its EQ'ed any ideas.

Thank You

Racer

Could you possibly clarify that a bit?

What I think you're asking tho is should you EQ the signal then cross it over? By all means. Just make sure you use a RTA.

To achieve ultimate zen in SQ and tunability you would want two 30 band eq's that feed into a digital crossover..The Crossover is designed to seperate the frequency's and send them to the proper amplifiers. Where as the crossovers will increase and decrease the db of a certain frequency. There are many manufactures out there that offer many options for electronic digital X-overs, Audio controll makes some very nice units.

Edit-- Your system may require more then two 30 band eq's Idealy you would want one on each channel.

EQ and crossovers do two entirely different things.  ALL multi-element speaker systems require a crossover of some sort, and most are shipped with the speaker sets.  Subwoofers require a low-pass and in some cases a sub-sonic crossover.  But crossovers are not intended for the user to "play" with the sound character.  If you want the ability to play with the sound settings of the system, then you'll want an EQ.  However, getting an EQ set up properly requires more gear (like and RTA) than most people have access to.  I, for one, recommend against EQs unless you really know what you're doing.,,, or unless you simply want to play.
