Getting ready to replace the stock h/u on a 2004 explorer.  Is there anything out of the ordinary with the vehicle that I need to be aware of?

Some have a factory woofer. Need the Ford harness with the RCAs.I think it's Metra 70-5521. Watch out for turn on pops, have a resister ready.

Are turn on pops in fords common?  Also what is a resistor?

Also I believe the trim piece that is around the radio and the hvac controls in the explorer just snaps out correct.  No screws holding that in.  If someone could confirm that would be great.

Also does anyone know if I will need an antenna adapter for the new hu?  Probably going to buy kenwood.
