I have rear both good and bad posts about their equipment, but a lot of the posts were 1-2 years old. How is the equipment they are currenty producing. I am looking at the Van Gogh line of subs and Picasso Amps.  I am also interested in their Xstream line od mids/highs. Anyone have any input?  Their amp an speakers seem to be reasonably priced for the output.  How does this equipment comapair to Rockford Fosgate, as that is the only other equipment I have experience with.

compared to rockford  SS is better for SQ .the output is close to RF's older stuff . the xstream mid and highs are desent i have only heard the componets.running off a H/U. the tranatula series are better and the picasso 1000 D would go well with 2 12" van goghs the van gogh amps perform well also .the 1600.2 was under rated ,and yes for the price the output is great . the picasso amps can handle 1 ohm with no problems

While at my distributor recently, I was shown the Picasso series compenents and was very impressed. They offered a nice x-over and a woven cone with an aluminium phase plug. Actaully he mentioned that Image Dynamics was more than likely the creator of these speakers.

Now I can't say how they sounded as I didn't  listen to them and that is the make or break point for speakers. I feel that sounstream could compete with fosgate.

While the all the Soundstream products I've ever used were older, (the Rubicon line of amps, Exact-series of speakers), they all performed outstandingly.

I've never heard a bad thing about Soundstream stuff... except that they're now owned by PowerAcoustik. Yuk.

Soundstream used to be one of the premier American brand names.  Then they went bankrupt and were bought out by Power Acoustic.  For two or three years the went from one of the best to one of the many mediocre brands.  Now they are starting to come back as Power Acoustic is actually putting money into the brand and not just using it to sell re-badged PA amps and speakers.  Their higher-end gear is again pretty good, but the lower-end stuff is the same as Power Acoustic.

When you say their high end stuff is good, which lines do you mean.  It is hard to tell by their website which are their top lines.  They make so many different lines of equipment.

Blowntweeters:

Perhaps you could try that post again, using punctuation to delineate exactly what you mean.

The total absence of commas literally renders that post unreadable, as I can read about 4 or 5 different meanings into that collection of words, depending on where emphasis is placed. Punctuation establishes that emphasis in a voiceless ether like the internet. A period, at the end, would have (almost) made that a sentence.

Aside from DYohn, you seem to be the only other person on this board with hands-on Soundstream experience; it would be great to be actually be able to understand you.

Soundstream stuff is really hard to find online these days. I haven't seen a stocked e-tailer in *quite* sometime.
