Did an overhead mv today in a 2004 freestar. After everything was all said and done, the cd player would no longer work. It has the 6 disc in dash changer. Here is what I did with the radio. Unpluged everything and put the radio on the drivers seat. Thats it. Plug it in and put it back. The radio and all speakers work but not the cd portion. It says initializing on it and nothing after that. I noticed in the plugs there was a bare wire, no insulation at all. Could it have something to do with it or no. At a complete lost. Could understand if maybe i dropped it but i didn't. Just set it on the seat. Is this something that will reset automatically or should i take it to the dealer.

You will most likely have to take it to the dealer to get it replaced, those radios are junk, i have seen a ton of them where the CD player will just not work anymore. Yours is on of many that do that my freind.

Aren't those radios expensive. Like 800 or something. Oh well since it's under warrenty shouldn't they change it out for free.
