Hey everyone. I'm Ken.
Now that we got that out of the way...I have an older Panasonic M1004 Class A amplifier that totally kicks @$$. It also totally welds my voice coils. This thing is said to be 100 watts to 4 channels (class A, pure amp...gotta love it). My question then is: Why did it freeze my Ecclipse 6.5 components (150 WRMS)? I'm guessing the 100x4 rating is RMS, but does anyone know for sure? NE1 have specs for this monster? Already tried using the SE (four of them) but no luck. Thanks a bunch for any info!

Hmm, I'm not familiar with that amplifier. If it is a pure class A car stereo amp, I'd like to know more about it. Can you post a picture including the complete model number? In any case it sounds to me like you probably have the gain set way too high and the amplifier is clipping like crazy.

Thanks for coming back so quick!
I thought it might be clipping, but I put a scope to it and there were no DC flats. In the same breath, my gain is set to only about 30%, and my equalization (A-Bahn LineDrive, 6db passive crossovers, head unit) all have the gains set in the middle except for bass and midbass (which are zero'd). I'm running 4ga power & ground, which I -KNOW- have clean cnxns. I dunno, maybe those Ecclipse 6.5 components weren't as good as I thought. I will pull the amp and take some pix. How do you PM on here? I have a DSL cnxn so pix are no prob.
Thanks again!
