iv got a problem with my sound not coming out of my speakers. at first i thought it was my 360 watt 4channel amp.. but i took it into a guy who "knows his amps" and he said the outputs and everything is running fine. so i put that back in and it worked for a short while... now its happening again. i figured it could be my head unit, so i bought a new one, I was going to anyway so not a big deal, but it didnt solve the problem. if i turn the volume up really loud you can hear the music fade in and out just barely. sounds like my amp took a crap. my amp is a pioneer 360rms watt 4channel amp, what is connected is an audiobahn component set, 6 1/2's, 4's, and tweeters. anyone think this could be a problem with my speakers? or am i right and the amp is just going bad?

Well it's difficult to diagnose things like this over the Internet, but yes it sounds like an amplifier problem to me.

Check to make sure one of your speakers isnt blown, this will cause the amp to Clip and shut down.
