Redpeppers method does not work
i took the remote wire from the headunit on the (86) and the ground wire on the 85.
i hear a clicking noise. this is not good
then i took the remote wire from teh amp and placed it on the 30 amp on the relay.
and the antenna wire on the 87.
87a (not used)
this is all wrong, a no go set up.

85 to ground, 86 from the blue/white wire at aftermarket headunit, 87 from yellow wire at aftermarket car harness (12v+), 30 to remote wire and blue power ant. wire

then how will the headunit turn on if i remove the yellow 12v+ (headunit), from the yellow wire from the oem car harness.

No, don't disconnect the yellow wire on your new stereo, just tap into it, providing power for your relay. Tap the yellow wire in the aftermarket harness, not the car harness. This is the constant. ------------- My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

If you only have one amp to power, why would you need the relay to begin with? Unless there are other components you haven't mentioned...

Ok, so i would tap into the yellow 12v+ from the headunit wire harness, and plug it into the 87 stub. 85 to ground. 86 to headunit blue/white wire. 30 to remote wire from amp. What about my power antenna wire from the oem wire harness?
Another question: When i plugged the blue/white wire from the headunit into the 86. Then twisted the power antenna wire + the remote wire from the amp, into to the 85 it seemed to work. (this is the same as if i took the remote wire from amp + blue antenna wire from oem car, and twisted them to the blue/white wire from the headunit, it would work basically the same with out the relay) intersting..... But i still i would like to know how to wire it properly with the relay to power the antenna. Because the way that you guys suggested does not seem to include the blue antenna wire.
