box question

What is the advantage of a wedge box such as
or a regular rectangle box? I looked the site over and found nothing maybe i'm not bright maybe its not here some one help me out. I've dont a lotta boxes usually just rectangle cuz its ezier but am i losing something?
p.s. I'm running 1 type R witha 605 alpine amp in a blowthrough in an s10 reg cab.. just curious if one is that much better than the other thnx in advance
