I just installed my avic-d1 in my scion, But I also kept my alpine 9855.  I am using my 9855 for all the audio functions (xm,cd,dvd,) and using the avic-d1 for navigation ONLY.  I was wondering if anyone here new how I can have my 9855 mute when the navigtion on the avic is speaking??  Can you use the phone mute wire on the 9855 to mute when the navigation is speaking?? if so what wire would I hook to it.. thanks. in advance..

no the mute wire on the alpine is to mute the hu itself it is an input(-) not an output. does the avic have a mute wire and it should but im not familar with that unit find out what wire it is and what polarity it needs to see to mute and wire in a relay with a switch. thats the best i can do with the info you have presented. lol
