My '03 Toyota 4Runner has what appears to be an extra antenna connection in addition to the standard antenna connection that fits all stereos.  I recently replaced the standard NON JBL factory stereo with a Blaupunkt Bermuda MP35 that does not have any connections for this extra cable, and the reception quality was very lousy - and I have a feeling it is due to the fact that this cable was not connected to anything.  Does anyone know what this cable is and does, and if there is a connector available to tie it into a stereo that only has one Antenna connection on the back?

Thanks.

It serves as a ground.  You won't need it for your aftermarket stereo.

Does the car have a power antenna or glass mount antenna?

If it's a glass mount antenna chances are it's amplified and you did not power it up. If you used an aftermarket harness make sure the blue lead has power.

Makes perfect sense - I assumed the blue lead was for a power antenna...  Thanks a million.
