the higher voltage output is better.  Your amplifier can only increase the input signal a certain amount.  If the signal is higher to begin with it can be amplified more and cleaner.  So what does the change mean to you?  Going from a 2v out to a 4v out means you need to reset the gains on your amplifier.  The gain matches your amplifier to the input signal.  Your gain can be set lower with the 4v input so your amplifier runs cooler and produces a cleaner sound.  Hope this helped you out.
