I have a couple of questions.  One I have a guy that wants to hook up 6 Kicker Free airs 4ohm SVC to an old Punch 200.  Now, first qustion I have run up to 3 SVC with out a problem now I am lost to what I supposed to do with 6.  Two does anybody know the ratings on that puch 200 and where I can find them so, I can tell what ohmage to run.  Also, is there a diga that could help we with the wiring?

Thanks

Wade

This will give you approx 1.25 ohms on each chan. I would series wire 2 sets of three woofers each and then parrallel the two groups together. This should show your amp a 6 ohm load bridged in mono.

is it the punch 200 ix or the 200dsm ? also  i would wire the subs in paralell . 3 subs on each channel .the amp would see 1.3 ohms and should run that just fine. you could do a series paralell combo and run the amp brigde also . as was suggested above. you will get better SQ that way. those old punch amps are under rated . like the punch 60 ix . back in the day i had a soundstream spl 160 being pushed by the 60 ix. i told people the amp was rated at 60 watts . they thought i was crazy.

In the old school days companies made woofers that were designed as infinite baffle ( free air ) You used them in trunks, boats and motor homes to name a few when you didn't want to or couldn't build a box. Putting these in a box is roughly equivilant to putting 6X9s into a box. It destroys the bass and efficiancy.
