I just recently purchased a 2001 Lincoln Navigator. I am about to put in a system, so I had a couple questions. Is there any receiver that allows you to use the factory 6 disc cd changer (it's located in the console) and the radio controls on the steering wheel? I am about to start putting my system together and I need to know what I can do.
Thanks
I recently did a complete Stereo upgrade on a 00 navigator using the stock stereo, and found that using a speaker level to RCA's from the stock stereo created unwanted engine noise and a loud pop when the stereo was turned off. So to start your upgrade replace your stereo!!!! I was againt it because of the steering wheel controls and the c-d changer. I put a Alpine Phantom face CDA-7998 and it works great no engine noise. Save your self trouble and replace that stock junk. Sad to say but a 10 year old Sony tape deck sounds better!! let me know if you want more info....

um, i think you misunderstood him. he basically is telling us that he IS replacing the stock head unit, and wants to know what aftermarket head unit will work with his stock steering wheel controls and stock changer.
then you replied telling him to get an aftermarket head unit, because even a 10 year old sony tape deck sounds better than the stock one.
tsk tsk tsk.... how about some responses that pertain to his question! (which mine does not - haha
Stock 6 disc will not work with any aftermarket stereo. PAC makes 2 steering wheel interfaces, the SWI-X which I only use as a last resort because it has a finicky IR and the SWI-ALP which will plug directly into select Alpine HU and is much more reliable.
