Okay, I have an 1984 Chev. SIlverado 1/2 ton and I had a Sony CDX-4180 deck in it, with a Concord CA50-2 100w RMS amp, and two 8" MTX Magnum subs and it worked perfectly. Then I upgraded my deck to a Pioneer Premier DEH-P770MP and once I turned on the ignition I noticed I was picking up electrical sound from everywhere. I can jiggle the key and it crackles, turn on the heater fan and you hear it turn, you can here the sounds of the deck loading and reading a CD, and when the truck is running you can hear the alternator whine through the subs. I figured it was the amp, and switched it with an Alphsonik one but no difference. My amp is connected to the fuse box as well. I tryed swapping RCA's, moving grounds, etc. I decided to connect the subs to the speaker wires from the deck directly and this solved the problem but the sound was, of course, not as loud without an amp. Any sugguestions on how to fix this problem would be awesome. Thank You.

you might wanna try higher quality RCA cables. some cables aren't as good as you think. also make sure that all of your connections are secure.

No, not the cables. You made a switch in head units and the noise started. That's where the problem is. Of course you need to amplify the subwoofer, so connecting subs directly to the deck is no solution. You have a problem with grounding, and the Pioneer deck is the culprit. It may be defective or you may have to ground it differently than what is being used now. The ground from the deck to chassis must be on the same page as the ground from the amplifier to chassis. A difference in the ground planes between the two components is causing a ground loop in your sound system. Work on running a separate ground wire from the deck to the car's chassis. If the problem can't be solved look into replacing the deck with another one, because the deck itself may have ground plane differences in itself. And read through forbidden's grounding topics stickied toward the top of the page for a clearer outlook of this problem. "My amp is connected to the fuse box as well." That statement bothers me....why isn't the amp connected directly to the battery?

since the seny went away when he connected the woofers to the deck directly the sound went away. woudn't that me mean that some of the cables he by passed were giving some trouble?
