I DEFINITELY want to keep my factory head unit but I want to add an amplifier and sub. My plan would be to run my front component speakers off the 4 channel amp, let the factory HU power the rear speakers, and bridge the other channel of the amp to my sub. I've looked at the audiocontrol LC6 and the JL audio clean sweep. I like the idea of the cleen sweep because I can use the auxiliary input for my satellite radio. Would it be possible to run my configuration with the clean sweep? It seem as though the clean sweep only has outputs for front and rear. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Yes, the Clean Sweep should work for you - I don't think it needs all four input channels to function. You'll need to get the Metra wiring harness adapters 70-1761 and 71-1761. Install both between your OEM head unit and the vehicle's wiring harness (one goes into the radio, the other goes into the vehicle.) Connect all wires together except for the front speaker pairs. Use the front speaker wires out from the radio to the Clean Sweep's front inputs. Run the speaker wire from your amps back under the dash and connect to the front speakers factory wiring harness. Connect the Clean Sweep's front RCA output to all four channels of your amp (you'll need Y-cables.) Set the rear channel crossover for low pass and connect it to your sub. Should work. The only problem you'll have is if you use your aux input on the Clean Sweep, it will only function for the front speakers and the rear speakers will still receive the signal from your HU. This could suck. A 4-channel amp for your 4-main speakers and a seperate subwoofer amp is a much better option.

I'd recommend one of the many good 5-channel amps over a 6-channel if you need to keep it in one chassis. Usually the 5th channel is an optimized class-D subwoofer amp in 5-channel units. Then you'd connect all 4 pairs of speaker outputs from your HU to the JL unit, all 4 output channels to the main inputs on the amp, and then depending on the amp you may need to use a Y-cable to drive the sub channel, or it may be able to grab a signal from the channel 3-4 input. Depends on what you buy. The speaker output for the mains run back under the dash to the adapter for all 4 channels, the sub hooks to the sub channel, and you're good to go. Be sure to properly setup your gain levels.
