Went to a nearby shop and was in need of listening to some new gear. First thing I saw was the Zapco i-force subs, they were pretty but didn't bother listening to them. There was an array of JL and Alpine subs behind the sound board.
The Zaps were right above the Morel Elate 6's. I lsitened to some well recorded african fusion music, although not my choice it had a good array of different frequencies. I believe an 8w7 was used for the sub and a Zapco c2k 4.0 was used for the comps.
I closed my eyes and listened for a while and was truely impressed. I switched over to the Morel's and was delighted as well. The Zaps were more detailed and warm sounding, but the Morels had the Zaps beat in terms of freq. response. They played both lower and higher, and especially the tweeter on the morels. This is important when it comes to installation. The Morels seemed to have a more natural sound, one that really took the music and put right back out as if it were live. So for roughly $1200 either is a great choice.
That 13w7 was not as great as I remember, in fact the owner said he preffered the Eclipse Ti's for they were more accurate.
Now I need a job reviewing car audio gear:errr:

Cool, thanks for the comparison review. I know the sound of the Morels (love them) so this had meaning to me. The Zapco "i-force" line is their made-in-China entry-level gear, so I'm not at all surprised you found it unimpressive.

Well I never actually listened to any of the i-force gear, don't know where you got that. The components were the ck- 16.2's (should have listed that to begin with, sorry).

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
Noting the overwhelming success of the cleverly named Japanese Isuzu "I-Mark", the Chinese pounced on that idea and named the new line of Zapco audio components "I-Force". This writer envisions the catchy lineup to be a sure winner amidst the competition, as there's nary a garage one passes by that doesn't have a coveted I-Mark in it.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
Well stevdart, I am gald you found my review ever so useful
And DYohn, what can I say?

:) You can say you were right, you never said you listened to the iforce stuff, you only saw it. And that's what I was responding to! And I did find your review interesting...
