I'm looking for some efficient (93-94db) 6 1/2" coaxials.

I've looked at the Focal Polyglass 165 CV1, and they seem to be ok. Any reccomendations?

Probably because those are all low end entry level brands that most people consider to be of lesser quality then stuff that can be had for near the same price.

what do you mean with low end entry levels?

Generally built cheaply to less strict quality standards and for people new to car audio that don't yet know any better. They may work fine for many, but there are much better things to be had for just a bit more cash outlay.

I'd say go with infinity.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

The new Infinity Kapp 6.5" coaxials are rated at 94db sensitivity.

Polk Audio DB650 are 92db with 60w.

I have them and they're very clear (with an amplifier).

jeh1:  if you're going for very high efficiency because you'll be powering them with the head unit, make sure you listen to the speakers first under those low power conditions.  Normal listening tests are done using amplifiers and the results may be different.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

I plan to use these highly efficient speakers to be driven with an amplifier that I have built.. not too many watts, maybe 12 watts(RMS) x 2. Do you have any information on how they measure sensitivity values of these kinds of speakers? are you saying that there may be some curve to the sensitivy range depending on power input?

thanks for all of your good input.
