Im looking to put an aftermarket stereo in my 2004 Pontiac Grand Am (non Monsoon) and i cant find a wiring harness adapter.  I was just wondering if anyone knows what each colored wire does.

There are 13 of them...

Dark Green, Light Green, Purple, Orange, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Black, 2 Gray wires, 2 Brown wires, Tan and a Yellow wire

2004 grand am should use metra 70-2003 and a GM antenna adaptor. I'm sure there are harnesses from different comapnies, I just don't know the part numbers off the top of my head like I do the metra.

i dont want to spend 75-100 bucks on plastic and wires.  I already tried to connect it and there are 2 black wires.  one is thicker...probably 14 gauge with a white stripe.  The other is 16-18 gauge but has no stripe.  Both wires are black, which is ground?

If possible can anyone tell me what wires connect from the harness that comes with the new cd player to the wires that are on the car?  That would be great if anyone could tell me that.

you can spend some money on doing it properly ( "plastic & wires" ) or you can spend some money on a good DMM and figure it out.....

Also, that car is class II, you are not spending 100 bucks on wires and plastic, you are spending a 100 bucks on a digital interface that keeps your car functioning properly.
