hey the other day my system was turned up pretty loud and i was listening to it for maybe 5 mins. and some how one of my 3 40 amp fuses on my jbl 1200.1 amp like caught on fire and get toasted. the next day i wasnt even playing my bass i was just listening to music and another of the 3 fuses caught on fire. after that i disconnected the remote wire. i looked at the 3 fuse adn it was like burnt on the inside as well and where u push the other fuses in its like totally fried and melted. i went to my local car audio shop and just by looking at the 3rd fuse they said it was deff. blown or something. my question is what could have caused this and do you guys think its deff. toast? thanks

You wouldn't have an unfused or rigged "fuse" in the power wire, would you?  And if not, the power wire fuse didn't blow?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

sounds like the power supply curcuit in the amp. what happens most of the time is that the surface mount resistors in that curcuit go bad and over load the mosfets and they short out causing the amp to blow fuses.the cause of the falure is making the amp work hard. like running the amp at a 1 or 2 ohm load when it is designed for a 4 ohm load. this is just one possibilty. there are many others my suggestion is to have it repaired at one of your locol shops. not something for a novis. lol
