i have two batts. in my car and i want to isolate them, there are no markings on the pac 200 just four connectors. if some one would provide a diagram or just point me in the right direction that would be nice. thank you in advanced.

you should have 2 big terminals and 2 small terminals. the 2 big ones go to each batteries (+) terminal. one of the small termianls go to ground and the other goes to a 12v ignition wire so when you turn the key the relay energizes and connects the 2 batteries.

The best way to hook up an isolator? Hook it up with a trip to the dumpster. They are worthless in most cases, and a band-aid in others.

Do it right, use two identical batteries, and wire them in parallel.

BUT, if you MUST use one (I am betting this is a solid state isolator? Basically a big heat-sink?) There is an input terminal, and two output terminals, and one small stud, right? The small one won't be used - it is a throw-back to the days when Ford (and other domestic manufacturers) used 'excitation' wires on their alternators, rather than internal or self-exciting regulators.

Actually Haemphyst,
It is a 200 amp relay. They are designed to allow you to use auxiliary batteries with the vehicle off and not draining the main battery. With vehicle running the alternator will charge all batteries. If you have two different batteries then you need to use this relay . I use the Stinger 200 amp relay all the time when doing multiple batteries.

I stand corrected. I made assumptions, which normally I don't do, but there we are...

Anyway, AFTER I was corrected, I researched the isolator, and here is the installation manual. Not REALLY clear, but it's right from the manufacturers website...

I still maintain that isolators are really nothing more than bandaids in car audio, and end up costing you more in the long run...

well thanks for the info guys. I do have two of the same batteries (red tops).After the replies i'm not going to use it. I brought a red top battery from some one for 50.00 and he just gave it to me since he wasn't going to need it any more, Tweeter put it in when they did his system.
