A mono amp will run two subs fine, better then other amps in many cases.

The MTX Thunder 421D should be a fine amp.  It will power 2 RF P1s wired in parallel easily with a little extra power.  The frequency responses are also a good match.  All in all it should be a good match.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

It basically means connecting both subs directly to the amp, positive to positive, negative to negative.

The alternative would be in series- you would connect them in a string- from the amp, to one woofer, out that woofer to the other woofer, back to the amp.

The load placed on the amp is different depending on which way you connect them.

Connecting in parallel is just as geepherder said.  I will try to illustrate.

AMP Inputs                       1 woofer                              2 woofer

I think I got the illustration right.  Someone correct me if I am wrong.
