I read somewhere these are basically the same amp, but different brands. My question is how can that be? Are they just compareable, or are they designed by the same person with same internal parts:errr: What gives?

Arc audio is designed by Robert Zeff. He orginally was the designer of Zapco. Clarion once worked with Mcintosh and had some great products, but I doubt anything has gone on between Arc and Clarion.

Clarion doesn't have a dpx1001.1 only a manual for a 1001.2. The specs of the dpx1001.2 are not nearly the same as the 1500dr.

Where did you hear this?
