ok, so ive got a 98 Eagle Talon, and just picked up an MTX Thunder 942 amplifier (see specs here), but havent decided what kind of setup i want to do. ive searched and searched, and aside from different wiring configurations, i couldnt really find any advantages/disadvantages of doing four SVC subs vs 2 DVC. id be running each channel of the amp at 2ohms regardless, but im just wondering what kind of setup would be better? space isnt an issue, but i have heard that more subs means more air being pushed...is that statement accurate? i mean it sounds right, but i wanted to get everyones opinions on this before i start dumping more money into this project.   thanks in advance everyone.

The difference between 2 subs and 4 subs (assuming the subs are the same type) is approximately 3db.  This is about 1/3 louder.  There will in general be no difference in output between a SVC and a DVC sub of the same type.

as soon as you double the number of drivers you gain 3db, witch is the equivilant of doubling your power output. if you can go with 2 dvc drivers then do it, it will be louder than a single svc sub
