Heh guys:

So I really don't want any more chinese speakers.

I need to replace a pair of JL VR-series 3/4" silk domes and I'm looking really hard at the ID NX30 silk domes... uhh... here.

Off chance anyone know if that kit has hardware to point the things when you surface mount them? I wasn't really trying to put holes in my doors.

Thanks guys.

ID speakers are manufactured in China, I believe... I could be wrong.  Anyone know for sure?

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

If those are the same tweeters as in the camelion component set then DO NOT HESITATE to buy them, they are amazeing tweeters, i loved the sound of the camelion components tweeters.  If not, , then i dunno.

Yea they're the same tweeters. They actually look perfect for my application...

I'll be running them in an active setup... 3.6-20khz... 45watts/ch from a JLe6450. I'm a fairly aggressive user too ... they look just great.

Anyone have any other recommendations in the silk-dome department? They'd be mated with a 5" CDT EF mid-bass.

KarTune:

Do you know if the surface mount-pod is aimable or just the flush-mount pod? Or is there a difference in this kit?

Thanks.

Personally, if I were looking for new tweeters... (wait, I am looking for new tweeters) my choice would be something from this page... The Morel stuff is AWESOME sounding, will fit your crossover choices perfectly, handle the power you are using EASILY... Look into them.

Have I ever steered you wrong?

Here... or here...

Actually, that's my bad... those links are for the USA made <cough>ripoffs<cough>. While the USA built "Morels" are still DAMN FINE products, they are not quite as good as are the genuine articles... Do not discount them completely. Look into tham, see what is available that might fit your demands, and then decide if you need the "real thing".

The link I gave you on the last page is for the "Real" Morel - the ones made in Israel. Black's Audio, in Georgia, is about as close as I could find to you for a REAL dealer. Their info:

Blacks Audio
Eddy McCue
304 W. Curahee St.
TOCCOA, Georgia 30577
Tel. (706) 866-7466

Also, a NC dealer:

Audio Ecstasy of NC
Brian Grebe
5417 Garden Lake Drive
GREENSBORO, North Carolina 27410
Tel. (336) 207-0577

Give them a call! Tell 'em Haemphyst sent ya! LOL

hamfist:

Hmm if I used Morel in this instance I think I'd be looking for this guy ... I found the same stuff on Madisound over on Partsexpress but all that stuff looks like home-speaker-kit stuff, nuthin that'd be practical in my application.

The tweeters on the first page look straight *beautiful* though.
Ya think calling dealers like that wouldn't get me laughed at?
