Is it possible to replace the in dash 6-disc Bose changer for an in dash DVD only unit (no monitor)? I'm working with a 2003 Yukon Denali with the Bose factory unit w/ single CD, XM, and 6-disc changer. I'd want to route audio both to the head unit but also to a rear display w/ IR headphones and ideally allow operation of the DVD & rear display/headphones while listening to something different on the head unit.
Hey dwasill,
OK now I have everything hooked up, I own a 2002 denali. I wound up by pulling factory amp, head unit, speakers, cd changer and rear audio for something I can work with. the stock stereo (mine anyway) didn't have the inputs to run anything let alone what you are asking. If you really want something nice (buying a denali being clue # 1) start fresh and do your homework! Just because a salesman at wherever says it is the greatest thing to happen since the internet. Here's what I installed Pioneer avh-7500, something like this

then you need a an onstar module because they put them inside the radio, I used the center channel drivers side for onstar pass side center for navigation in lower slot (Just another woman telling me where to turn
) but then I installed 7" monitors in driver & pass. headrests and just for good measure one 6" in the pass. sunvisor complete with light and mirror. It's a complicated procedure, daunting even, but all worth it when the kids don't say a word for about an hour at a clip. Now I can do whatever I want in the front (radio cd even dvd on radio screen) while the passengers are enjoyiny whatever suits them. If you want specifics let me know I can show you pics of my in progress dashboard that would turn your stomach, and to think I spent all that money just to rip it all apart! The wife thought I was nuts, right up until it was finished!
