i installed  a stereo in my freinds  carand it came on. But then it shut off for no reason. So then i check all wires and fuses nothin. So then i check it with a different stereo and it didnt not work. Then i check the 12v con on a ground and nothin. Then did the same thing with the acc wire and got sparks. The factory work before we installed the new one. How can this be fixed. And what would of made this happen. Also the clock and the door ligths dont work either. I hooked the 12v to the acc and it came on but want back off. Any help would be good.

You definitely blew a fuse- if not inside the passenger compartment, under the hood.  From the sounds of it, you didn't use a wiring harness to connect this new stereo- shame on you.  An adapter harness- usually $15 or less at your local stereo shop (even Wal-Mart), will make installation a breeze and take the guess work out of it.

Don't try to touch a wire to ground to test for a spark.  Buy a multimeter, and become familiar with it before you cause anymore undue damage.  You need to do this to test all the wires for proper operation.  You can look in the left hand column of this site, scroll down to General Info, and select vehicle wiring.  This will give you a place to start.  You can also check www.installdr.com.

This should get you pointed in the right direction.  Keep us posted, and let us know if you need more help.
