Titanic 15" MkIII, i would like to no how this sub proforms and if it is worth the money. im really considering geting it but i would like an opinion on it.
also like to now what box it proformes better in, i know that it has to be big. this is the site im probebly going to get it from. if enybody knows a site i can get it cheaper with the same or better warranty. the site sez that the box sould around 5 cu ft and tuned to 19.6Hz. dose dayton make good subs and are they reliable on there rms ratings. is it worth it for me to get it. if somebody could put the specs of the sub from the link into a box building program to tell me what it sould proform better in. gust give me what you find works best. i want it to be ported. thanks for your help

All the info you need on https://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=295-420&ctab=10#Tabs Same price from either source. Dayton is an in-house brand...very high quality speakers made by, I believe, Eminence. Parts Express ships out of Ohio, so you should see which site will cost less to ship to your location. And, this MkIII was designed as a home subwoofer. ------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

and, yeah... GREAT woofers, especially for the money! I still use a pair on Titanic 12 MKI from, like 8 years ago, in my home system. Flat to 25 in 2.2 cubes... And I BEAT them to death, with an Adcom GFA565 at 350wpc... Awesome woofers, and excellent SQ as well.
------------- It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

can i make my own amp im looking for one but dont want to spend the money could i make my own for cheaper i would like to learn about this but if it is better to get one than ill go ahead and get one. iv bine looking at the adcom's and they look pritty good. i still want to power this thing to its rms. i have a computer that is hooked up to a receaver then it gose to an amp then to the sub that i have now it is being run at 2 ohms so it gets really hot and so i have fanes on it to keep it cool but i now im really wareing it out by doing that. and the computer and the reciver put alot of power through it to so is not runing its rms 110 more like 250, 320w. so i need to be able to get something or make it so it is able to take that much form the input. i saw that the adcoms 350's are able to take 630w into the input. actuly that was an rythmik audio amp that seid it was able to thake 630w from the input. if enybody could help me find something that is good and at a good price or help me make one or help me find out how to do it i would be really thankful.
P.S i would like to run the sub at its rms 800w so i need a pritty strong amp like 500 to 700wrms. thank you much in advance.

im realy inthusiastic about this stuff beacause this is the first thing that i have been able to stick to, everything else gust kind of went away but this im EXTEREMLY interested in everything that has to do with audio and i mean enything from home speakers to car audio to all electronics that have to do with it i really would like to get involved in this stuff.
it makes me happy to finesh something that ive been working on for a long time and have it turn out good it is really satisfying

Um...you coulda cleaned up those wires a bit for the pic! Is there some bare twisted wire showing? (...and you wonder why I'd start to worry...) But I'm like you. This is just my hobby and it drives my wife nuts. My job has nothing to do with anything audio or electrical. That subwoofer you're interested in will last you many years, like haemphyst attested to. If you can get it, build a beautiful enclosure for it. AND DON'T SEND IT A CLIPPED SIGNAL from a too-small power supply! ------------- Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
