  • Be Descriptive and Specific Use a descriptive topic subject and be as specific as possible in your message. Providing more information makes it easier to help you. This will also make searching for similar topics and problems quicker and easier for all members. Try to include year, make and model of vehicle, any relevant model numbers, and the nature of your problem or project in detail.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

While what was posted above IS, IN FACT directed AT you, it is not directed EXCLUSIVELY at you. There have been many questions asked in this manner lately... this forum seems to falling apart, as people are not reading the rules and guidelines.

To answer your question, yes, you can use both. While they do DIFFERENT things completely, the EQ is optional, where a crossover of some sort is required in every full-blown (or even moderately full-blown) system. If you have chosen to use an active crossover, I recommend an extremely careful attention to setup details - if you mis-align crossover types or points, this can be EXTREMELY damaging to your systems' performance capabilities, if not destructive.

Going back to stevdarts response, please post amp, speaker, crossover, eq, and deck, manufacturer and models. This will allow us to answer your question in a much more efficient manner than with "yes or no".

Please do not think we are not interested in having you as a member - everyone here has at sometime or another provided valuable input to SOMEONE - please hang out, provide input and have fun! There are some really good conversations that happen here on a fairly regular basis.

It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
