I just finished installing two amps. I am having a problem with the Alpine F345. It plays fine at lower volumes, but when it plays loud for 10 minutes or so, it kicks off and gives the "CUR" on the display meaning the amp shut off due to excess current.
What might the problem be?
Im running 6 speakers off the amp. Would that be it? I have two sets of components, and one set of 4x6's. I have the two sets installed in the front of the truck running parallel. Is this the problem? The 4x6s are in channel 3 and 4. They are fine. The speakers are all 4 Ohm speakers.
Any help will be appreciated.

I think when CUR shows it means low current! which means your amp is starving for power. Have you upgraded any of your charging system when you instanned these 2 amps?

I dont think thats it. My charging system is still stock, but that amp was kicking off before i even installed taht other amp, and the manual says "excess current"
what im thinking, is the way i have the components wired, its causeing the problems.
im going to try and wire them in series.

Yeah, that's your problem, but why series 2 sets of components? You'd be better off to just remove one set.

Your problem is too low if an impedence once the amp gets working. Put one set of components on channel 1/2 and the other component set on 3/4 and set it up so the amp puts out the same signal for the front and rear so they work together up front. ie. flip the switch to 1/2 +3/4 or what ever it is. And run the 4x6's off the headunit. You are going to need to do some playing around with your gains to get the components and 4x6's to top out at approx the same volume level or at least so the 4x6's aren't distorting when the system is ran at full volume.
