I would like to install an aftermarket cd/mp3 player to replace the factory radio/tape deck with infinity system.  What I was wondering, is there anything that is going to give me grief.  For example getting the old unit out, mounting the new one, wiring, adapters, etc.  Any tips would be appreciated.  Thank-you

umm, yea. I got a 95 Intrepid with the powered infinity system and it works kinda goofy.  Dont quote me on this, youre better off w/ advice from someone like velocity motors or one of the other pros with 9000 posts on here.  After I got a new hu, my speakers sounded like sh*t, they werent gettin enough power.  My understanding from the guys at the shop was this...the speakers each have their own individual mini amp which needs the original hu in place to kick em on, which sucks all the low end out of those infinitys which sounded pretty damn good till I got the new hu.  I just got frustrated and ended up buyin all new speakers for in the car, which was worth it, the stuff I got now sounds waaaaayyy better than the infinitys, and a heck of a lot louder.

If you are going to use an aftermarket HU with the OEM Infinity speakers, you need to attach the remote turn onlead to the LIGHT GREEN wire on the BLACK harness. This will power up the OEM Infinity amp that the speakers need to sound good.

Thank you very much for the remote turn on wiring to utilize the infinity amp.

I hate it when shop owner's or workers of these shady shops ( or just don't know any better and try to sound like they know it all ) sell people stuff they do  not need or do not want but convince the customer they have to buy it posted_image . It gives all of us a bad reputation and makes it harder for us to make a good impresion on customers.
