its possible, but there are rules you have to follow in USACi.   If we didnt have rules then it would be easy to do much larger #'s

Per say,   we add batterys per amp as well a under hood, we have seen gains of 2-3db

Add a second Alternator   1-2db

Not be restricted to staying behind the Strut Towers in a CRX....well thats priceless really.....if we could run 4 subs in that class vs the 2 we are limited to beacuse of space we could see another 1-3db gain

so you could add another 4-8db to our current score if we didnt have rules,    only time will tell what that car can actually do...the rebuild begins soon

This year it should go into 0-300 SS

so less then 300wrms@4ohm rating
no more then 14.6volts
no limit on alt's or batterys
not behind the strut tower but behind the B pillar

There is alot more to come this year

Plus my own vehicle which is under way

0-1000 pro stock
less then 1000wrms@4ohm
less then 18 volts
unlimited alt's and batterys
still behind the B pillar

this is a low number. but in 1993 or 1994? i had a dodge diplomat with a padded top.(the padded top helped out in the db's)  i hit 136.2 with alpine hu. two fultron mx-300 amps,2 rockford 12" in a sealed box. 6.5 fultron separates, fultron 6x9's, fultron parametric E-Q, alpine 3653 x-o, alpine 3522s amp.  it was local event i came in third for spl

loudest system i had was in my 92 cavalier  2 door, it had a MTX 8k 12" sub (first year they made them) kenwood excelon X301 amp, precision power 5 band EQ and a old hcca 225 amp running a pair of 8" Rockford XLC's on the rear shelf...not upgrade to the power or charging system and the sub was in a 1.25 cu/ft box...hit 140.2db's on the dash using termlab software...or so they said.. i can only magine what i might be able to do now with what i know 4 years later.

Menace why do you say thats a low #?     If you can do better come do it.   It placed second in the World In USACi       If you think it is so low,   read the rules at Soundoff.org, and bring it next year.......

The loudest set up i have heard and own is 2 kicker 12" L7 in a built to spec street bass box on a Kx1200.1. 2 rockford fosgate Power caps. Eclispe cd 5423 head unit. lighting audio 300.4 to power highs ( does a good job in my book ) Kicker 6 1/2 and i Hit 146.2. I was a happy camper. Alot of hard work can pay off.

Off topic how much does it cost to get your car metered in db's for. Here in S.D. Sioux falls it is 15.00 at Dashboard Electronics.

Thats about right, most shops charge 10-15 a hour or half hour for test and tune.    The meters are about $700 new and parts do go bad and need to be replaced.   so they do charge quit a bit.    your typical show has an entry fee of $20-$50...depending on the point event it is I.E 1x 2x 3x       ut that dosent make any diffrence to people who only hit a few shows a year

I have a question for you honomichi

I have been pondering building the large Kicker recomended enclosure.   we currently run our subs in a modified SPL box..I.E 1 of the 2 ports is removed and only one sub in each box instead of 2 that would fit

We are very happy with how tight the bass is and how well it keeps up with rock or metal music, and this is from a guy who used to run eclipse 10's haha

we are not very happy with the SQ or low end bass....what size box did you get?    how does it sound as far as clean bass?     Does it get low without distorting horribly?

Just wondering if I should give one of the kicker boxes a shot, or just draw up designs of my own

My box measurments are 46" w, 18" d, 15" h for the port size is 2 1/2 w, 16 1/2 d, 13 1/2 h. what kind of subs do you have. Here our some spl types of boxes https://www.teamtoxicbass.com/~menu_designs/. your car plays a factor. Put a set up in one car sound different then in a other car.

To answer your questions Jeff. I like how my setup sounds. The bass is clean. Misses beats here and there. Not much. so far never heard any distorting. Personally every body perceives sound different what you may think sounds good guy next to you might hate.Prob. why there are so many companies. I have a pair of 02 Rockford Fosgate Hx2 in a sealed box  ( rec box size) SQ was only ok in my book. but the kickers sound way better to me.
