i have a 91 e30 in which i installed a kenwood h/u along with aft. mrt. speakers. no problems until i added a sub and amp. mtx amp w/infiniti sub. when the volume is up the h/u will shut off. radio reception is also in the dumps. now i went to inspect the connection at the antenna lead on the back of the h/u in the persuit of better reception and found when i unplug my antenna the h/u shuts off. why would this happen? i found some corrosion on the antenna lead at the antenna. after cleaning that and applying dielectric grease the reception is better and the h/u shuts off only with extreme volume. with the fuse removed from the amp power lead all of the problems dissappear. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you in advance.

thanks slammedb5, i'll try that. i grounded the h/u through the vehicle harness upon install but i never thought to check if it was a good ground. then at the time i never had reason to.
