hey, im trying to install an old rockford fosgate amplifier in my 92 honda accord, the model is a RF 4600x series 1 and i believe it is a 400 watt amp. i know very little about installation. well i hooked up all the proper wires according to my installation kit and the little red light on the end of the amp lights up when i connect the power wire to the battery but when i connect the speaker wires to L- and L+ screws or inputs on the opposite ends nothing happens. i also did not find a place to attach the remote turn on wire. im really lost, any help would be greatly appreciated

When you say you can’t find a place to connect the remote wire do you mean on the amp or on the back of the head unit (radio)? Also do you have a stock  or after market head unit? Here is a link to the installation manual for your amp explains how to hook it up if you don’t understand something or have a question don’t hesitate to ask. https://streetsound.ty.nu/man/Manualer/Slutsteg/2300_2600x_4600x.pdf

You can connect the remote wire to your yellow/white wire behind the head unit. Or use your 12volts switched which is yellow/red.

Where are you getting your power for the remote wire that you connect to the AP on your amp? Also do you have a voltage meter?

im connecting the remote wire from the head unit which is a jensen cd player, i just unhooked the the blue wire that was connected to the car's wiring harness and hooked it up to the amp.

Are you talking about the blue (remote) wire that comes out of the back of the head unit or some blue wire you’re connecting to in the cars wiring harness? If you give me your email address I will send you my phone #

ok, i have the amp all hooked up and the remote turn on wire is coming from the car's wiring harness, not the head unit and the red light is on so im getting power, the rca  cables are all hooked up but now when i turn on my cd player the cd starts playing but no sound comes out of any of the speakers, my cd player is a jensen CD3010x receiver

I just sent you an email. You should not be getting your remote connection from the cars wiring harness so give me a call

Here's some info on your amp, specific diagrams are included, its the original factory manual that would have come with it (only in PDF format)... https://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/library/1994/3_Amplifiers/MAN0191C_Series1Amps_MAN.pdf

my amp is all hooked up correctly i believe and im not getting any  sound out of the amp, whenever i hook up the rca cables to the amp it dims the sound coming out of the regular speakers which are not hooked up to the amp, only the sub is and there is no sound coming out of that.

bberman i will be calling you soon also but thought id go ahead and post this
