I just have a slight dilemma. I cant choose between the Clarion DXZ855MP or the Alpine 9855. I have compared both of them and can't decide. The clarion comes with a 24 bit D/A convertor and basically the same features as the Alpine but a better screen. In your professional and personal opinions. I found the Clarion for 318 and the Alpine for 328. I have friends who have the Alpine and say I should go with that, I dont know. Please help me out with any suggestions.

I've never been much on Clarion, but I have to steer you away from that Alpine.  Unless someone knows better (has this been resolved yet), these units tend to lock up quite often, and the glide touch is a pain to work with.

How about Kenwood? Which head unit do you reccommend in the 300-350 price range well above that but I can find Clarion, Kenwood, Alpine, Sony, Pioneer Premier, and a few others for dirt cheap.

I'd say look at kenwood if you can get it as dirt cheap as you say.  i personally am a fan of kenwood hu.  Other people might also recommend eclipse.  I personally don't have any experience with their hu though.

Stick with the excelon line.  The higher end ones are very nice.  It depends on how much you want to pay for the HU though.
