Ok i've pretty much decided what brand/model sub i want to get. Now the question i am left with is what size?
I'm planning on ordering the RE SE 12" or 15". I drive a 1999 Escort sedan. If it matters what type of music i listen to, i listen to mostly rock and a little reggae.
I want to run a sealed setup, because it takes up less space and i would getting tighter bass responce from sealed right?

i think the 12"s would be better for rock because the respond faster. Unlike rap with has a slow steady bass most of the time

12 if you want to save space than go with the 12. 12 is usually cheaper ull save some cash. 15 moves a little more air, can hit a little lower frequency. Not real sure about RE SE's but im pretty sure the 15" has a higher RMS rating so take whatever fits your amp.

sorry for double post but i have already seen several forums where people have said 12's move faster than 15's. Not true. I used to beleive it myself but actually there is no difference the 15 is just as good for rock as the 12 is. no better response at all.

Ya it's all about moving mass and motor strength. But if they use the smae motor no changes on the 15" that they use on the 12" wouldn't it have slower responce? or no?

Ok the real reason i wanted to get a 15" maybe was because i can only get one sub, and i wanted it to be a little louder. Maybe 1 12" would be plenty loud.

if you have the space go for the 15 but it will soud crappy if you dont have enough air space. 12 would save some space due to smaller box requirements. 15 would be a little louder.

As for response in theory it may respond a little slower but it would never be picked up by the human ear only some kind of percision audio measuering tool that im not sure even exsists.

If you have followed this board you will know this is just not true.

After scrolling down I saw that some others are believing the "smaller is faster" theory. Again if the drive motors are the same, this is NOT TRUE. The differance in sound will only be that the 15 will go louder because of larger cone area. Power handling and box size will vary from one manufacturer to another.
