Can you wire an amp directly from a radio output without having low level input. Is this what a high level input is? If so is that the only way to hook an amp to a factory radio?

Some amps have buillt in high input abilities. If the amp does not and this is the only way to hook it up, you may use a high to low converter.

Here are some examples of high quality converters...https://peripheralelectronics.com/web/loc.asp

you can hook up the factory speaker wires to the high level inputs if your amp has them but your best bet is to run a signal converter between the speaker outputs and the low level inputs on your amp.    or better yet go for a good aftermarket HU with low level outputs.
