i just got this speaker from a garage sale. it a kicker but the only identification on it says " competition C18a 8 Ohm" could someone please help out with a little info on the speaker. also if anybody knows box dimensions for spl and what kind of amp would be good to push it. thanxs

sell it. the box you will need for that is going to be big. they like ported boxes. and the amp get a 800 watt bridged at 4 ohms. so when you hook that 8 ohm up to the amp it will get 400 watts. what do you you plan on putting this in?  the box will not fit in a small car.

by bridging do you mean run a pos. to one channel and a neg. to the other? the sub is a single voice coil but it has two pos. and 2 neg. connections. so could i run both channels on the amp to the sub?

bridged i mean run it mono. if you use a class a/b 2 channel amp comined the L&R channels together. or just buy a class d amp rated at 800 watts @ 4ohms. what is this sub going in? and dont run L+L- and R+R-. it will not work right. a 2 channel amp will show you how to bridge the amp under the speaker terminals. a class d will be you best bet.  i hope you have a station wagon for that sub.
