amps and enclosures

what is a good amp to get to power 2 10'  Alpine SWR-1042D DVC 2 ohm subs (RMS 300-500 W, 1500 W peak) and what would be the best type of enclosure to put them in so that way i get the best bass out of them? People have recommended bandpass and sealed. Thanks

i'm setting my budget between $100-200 and i'd prefer a 2 channel over a mono

Most output of those subs = slot port enclosure built to spec. Say no to bandpass and sealed. Nothing wrong with sealed but in this case with those subs, the slot port box will play louder and more output at a lower note. As far as the subs go, find yourself the largest 2 channel amp that you can afford.

Stay away from bandpass like forbidden said.  Why don't want a mono amp though?

i've heard 2 channels sound better from a friend.

2 channel class a/b does sound a bit better due to the higher signal to noise ratio than that of a class d. but if your not going for all out sq. you will never notice it. especially in a car. plus class d's are easier on your charging system.   go with a class d.    and dollar to watt they are cheaper.

To run subs with a mono amp you want even notice a diference.  The diference would be noticeable the higher up the frequency is, but your only running subs.yous should definitely look into mono amps.  They will run a lot cooler and put out more power.  They were designed for subs.
