I have a 2003 ford explorer, i replaced my head unit with a 7 inch monitor. The problem i'm having now is placing the faceplate of my radio within hands reach, without having to reach in the glove box to operate the radio. I thought of placing the faceplate below the heat and air controls but how would i wire it ? Ribbon cable was my first idea but with it being so small would it break running it through the dash panels ? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I have seen face plate relocations done before. Most commonly they are placed in the sun visor.

I can't think of any other options than extended ribbon. You will just have to find a means of shielding it properly.

Ribbon cable should work fine, or maybe some cat 5.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

Thanks for the reply on the faceplate relocation, I decided to us a pioneer deh 3700 mp cd player and the marine wired remote. I got it in last night and it works perfect ! I have the display on the model i got and it looks clean. Now i need to make a nice looking pod to hold the unit maybe some fiberglass would look good thanks for the help!
