I have a 1 farad cap and need some advise on the proper installation of it. I have a RF class d amp with 1000 peak watts and am getting some headlight dimming on hard or extended bass beats. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

This is kind of a dead horse topic, but I see you are a newbie so I'll help you out. 1st the cap is not the answer to your problem a high output alternater is. Do a site search on the big 3 and caps and alts. That will give you the info you need.

To answer the question at hand, hook up the ground to the cap, then use the resistor or charging light or whatever is supplied and hook up one end of the device to the cap and the other end to power. If its a light then wait for the light to go out and then connect the power lead directly to the cap. If its a resistor than use a multimeter to test the cap to see when it shows 12 volts, then remove the resistor and hook up power directly from the battery
